The inflection "t" drops for the third person: il prendt and il batt cannot exist in french

so are: - battre: combattre,débattre,s'ébattre,rabattre,rebattre ... The base for the first three persons of présent is: bat- , so you must write: je bats, tu bats, il bat ("t" is the last letter of the stem)
